In the first quarter of 2025, revenue of the ocean division of the A.P. Moller Maersk group grew by 33% to USD 8.91 billion. EBITDA and net profit increased by 99% and 480% respectively, to USD 1.90 billion and USD 1.20 billion.
Maersk’s overall carryings were unchanged at 5.86 million TEU. A 2% reduction on intra-regional volumes was compensated by a 1% rise of East-West carryings.
During Q1 2025, overall freight rates were 2% higher than in Q1 2024. Along East-West corridors there was an 8% reduction, but this was more than compensated for by significantly higher rates on the North-South and intra-regional trades.
